Michael Misiurak is a performing pianist, accompanist, and instructor. He has studied piano for 22 years, and has over 12 years of teaching experience. Michael recently moved from San Francisco, California where he studied in preparation of fulfillment of the master of music degree in piano performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. For three years he served as accompanist at the famous historical landmark of Old St. Mary’s Cathedral in downtown San Francisco. Michael fulfilled his Bachelor of Music degree requirements in piano performance at California State University Northridge, where he studied piano pedagogy with Jeanine Jacobson and Dennis Alexander, two leading pedagogical composers and instructors. In California, Michael was a member of the Music Teachers Association of California. He served as an accompanist for the MTAC, and his students participated in the Certificate of Merit program. Michael also served as accompanist for Opera a la Carte, the Gilbert and Sullivan Touring Company in Pasadena, California, Immaculate Heart High School in Hollywood, and St. Andrews Parish in Pasadena, as well as other organizations and schools in the Los Angeles area. He has had the pleasure to play in various chamber groups in competition and recital, perform in solo recitals, as well as collaborate with various vocalists and instrumentalists in concert. Besides teaching, Michael currently serves as accompanist at St. Anne’s Parish in the Queen Anne district of Seattle, and serves as an accompanist for the Tacoma Opera. |
